PhD in Aerospace Engineering

Propulsion, Plasma Physics, Magnetized and Unmagnetized Plasma Plumes

Mario Merino obtained his MSc and PhD from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 2010 and 2013, respectively. His studies were awarded the first prize of the European PEGASUS Aerospace association, the Ministry of Education's second prize on successful end of studies, and the 'Young Aerospace Engineer of 2010' recognition by EUCASS. His current research interests are electric propulsion and plasma physics, in particular magnetic nozzles, and magnetized and unmagnetized plasma streams and jets in vacuum. He currently works at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid as a postdoctoral fellow on plasma modeling and numerical simulation.
