Hugh Lewis is a Senior Lecturer in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Southampton. He has been working in the field of space debris for 15 years and is the author of the DAMAGE space debris model, which is used to support the UK Space Agency’s role within the Inter-Agency Space Debris Coordination Committee (IADC). Dr Lewis has been a member of the UK Space Agency delegation to the IADC since 2004 and has been a member of the United Kingdom delegation to the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UN COPUOS) for the last three years.
